We’re Focused on What Matters Most Right Now in Northwest Arkansas
At the Junior League of Northwest Arkansas we live in the moment. To us, that means adjusting our focus according to our community’s most pressing needs. Our work is always evolving, and that keeps us on our toes, striving for progress, and preparing to take on whatever comes next.
Our goal is to help Northwest Arkansas women develop civic leadership skills through the work they do, then put those talents to work in the communities that need it. Our current focus is improving the quality of life for the women and children of Northwest Arkansas with an emphasis on domestic violence awareness and prevention gives women opportunities to grow, while positively impacting the communities where they live and work.
Community Impact Statement
The Junior League of Northwest Arkansas is committed to eliminating the possibility of domestic violence by ensuring those directly and indirectly impacted by domestic violence have the skills, training, and resources needed to heal and never re-enter, be exposed to, or trigger – and ultimately prevent – domestic violence or the cycle of abuse in their lifetime.
Domestic Violence Awareness & Prevention
The Junior League emphasizes the training of women in volunteer service and developing their potential to act as community leaders. This commitment to training not only serves the needs of our League, but it also provides a service to local non-profit organizations.
The Junior League of Northwest Arkansas strives to prevent further acts of domestic violence through education for our community, increasing awareness of domestic violence, communicating information and resources, and empowering our community to end domestic violence.

Current Community Partners
We, as a league of women, focus on improving the quality of life for the women and children of Northwest Arkansas with an emphasis on domestic violence awareness and prevention. The Junior League of Northwest Arkansas currently partners with the following agencies to deliver support and programs that adhere to our mission and focus area:
The Children’s Safety Center of Washington County (CSC) is a child advocacy center that offers forensic interviews, therapy, medical services, advocacy, and child abuse prevention training—all free of charge—to support children impacted by abuse in a safe, child-friendly environment
EOA Children’s House (part of Economic Opportunity Agency of Washington County) is a specialized program that serves children under the age of five who have experienced abuse, neglect, or trauma. Its mission is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where children can heal, grow, and prepare for a brighter future.
Peace at Home Family Shelter is a longstanding nonprofit based in Northwest Arkansas, serving survivors of domestic violence—including both adults and children. They strive to empower individuals to thrive through safety, advocacy, healing, and community education.
NWAWS exists to offer safe shelter and compassionate support at any hour to individuals—including women, men, and children—affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, or sex trafficking in Northwest Arkansas. Their broader vision is to break the cycle of domestic violence in the region
